It has been more than a year since the implementation of the Legal Regime on Fire Safety of Buildings and Venues, and the Macao Fire Services Department has conducted some 42,000 checks on various buildings, involving 1,863 buildings with a total of 38,071 households. It is reported that in many investigations, there are 17 cases involving the violation of the fire prevention law and 83 cases of advice to improve some residents have been found to have violations, so far a total of 17 administrative punishment procedures have been completed, of which 13 cases have taken the initiative to pay fines, mainly involving the placement of trolleys, chairs, shoe racks and other debris on the evacuation channel.

Eleven administrative punishment procedures are still pending; After persuasion, a total of 831 cases have been improved; A total of 348 cases have been referred to the relevant authorities for follow-up. These cases mainly involve the unauthorized erection or addition of fixed objects to escape passageways or rooftops in buildings, installation of iron bars in passageways around buildings, spacing of escape passageways or storage of debris, etc., which are within the purview of the Land and Works Bureau; Under the authority of the Municipal Administration, such as the merchant occupying the bottom of the column or the passage and other public parts to place sundries, goods or chairs; Is within the purview of the Police Department, such as motorcycles illegally parked on the footpath or under the portico, etc.; It is within the authority of the Health Bureau, such as the placing of debris in the courtyard of the building and the accumulation of sewage which affects the environmental hygiene.

In addition, there are many old buildings in disrepair, fire door (escape door) hardware accessories lost or damaged, which can not be closed, or old. Fire door is one of the important fire equipment, the main purpose is to block fire and smoke. Therefore, the administrator or fire safety person must check regularly to see if the door is damaged, and if it needs to be repaired or replaced in time to avoid being unable to use it when a fire occurs.

The "Fire Safety Personnel Training Course" has been organized by 166 classes with a total of 9 07 participants, which has basically met the relevant demand. The FSD will continue to monitor the work of the fire safety officer and consider whether to offer advanced training courses in light of actual needs.

In the future, the FSD will carry out the duties entrusted by the "Fire Protection Law", strengthen the supervision of the relevant responsible persons to fulfill the responsibility of maintaining the fire safety of buildings and venues, and continue to carry out fire safety inspections, truthfully enforce the law on various illegal acts, constantly summarize experience and timely adjust the law enforcement deployment, and regularly carry out education and promotion work, looking forward to working together with the industry and residents.
